What it is

Laser for visible vessels. Aimed at each one.

The laser sends a pulse of light that is absorbed by the blood inside the vessel. The vessel heats, closes, and over the following weeks your body reabsorbs it, while the skin around it is cooled and protected.

Small vessels on the nose and cheeks, spider veins on the legs, bright-red dots on the chest and arms. These are the things people bring us, and most respond to a vascular laser.

Vessel size, colour, depth, location and your health history all decide whether laser is the right tool. Larger, bulging or aching leg veins need a medical assessment first, and some are better treated by a vein clinic. We look at each vessel and tell you plainly what laser can do.

The technology

Two lasers, one vascular wavelength. Matched to each vessel.

We run two dual-wavelength lasers, the Lutronic Clarity II and the Cynosure Elite iQ. For vessels we use the Nd:YAG 1064 nm, which is absorbed by the blood inside a vessel and only weakly by the pigment in skin.

That lets it reach vessels below the surface and pass safely through deeper skin tones. Pulse length is matched to the vessel: shorter for fine capillaries, longer for thicker leg veins. Both lasers cool the skin as they fire.

How much does spider vein removal cost in Edmonton?

Laser Vein is priced by area: $175 for a small area, $295 for medium and $425 for large. A package of 4 saves 15%.

Can broken capillaries on the face be removed?

Yes. Fine red lines on the nose, cheeks and chin are what we treat most, and many clear in one or two sessions.

Can all leg veins be treated with laser?

Thin red and blue spider veins, yes. Larger, bulging or aching veins need a medical assessment first, and some are better treated at a vein clinic. We will tell you plainly.

Does it work on darker skin tones?

Yes. We use the Nd:YAG 1064 nm, which passes through the pigment in skin and is absorbed by the vessel.

Is there downtime?

Little to none. The area is red and sometimes slightly raised for a few hours. You can go back to your day.

How many sessions will I need?

Many facial vessels clear in one or two. Leg spider veins usually take two to three, about six weeks apart.
